Leopoldina – Installation

In collaboration with the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt, we created three installations for the Nationale Akademie der Wissenschaften Leopoldina exploring the theme of Autonomy. We see a productive tension in autonomy—a constant balance between freedom and constraint, rules, expectations, and limits. This mirrors the working method of our art collective KLUB7: a spontaneous, collective creative process where freedom and limitation, order and chaos, structure and chance interact with one another.

Distributed across three locations in the garden of the Leopoldina, the large-scale, site-specific work unfolds as a collage-like, vibrant, color-explosive painting in space, combined with integrated sound and light elements. Created entirely on-site through a collective process of interaction, exchange, overwriting, and spontaneous reaction, the artwork serves as a visible protocol of autonomy, friction, and cohesion.

The installations are constructed from urban found materials, including wooden frames, scaffolding poles, fabrics, nets, pipes, barriers, acrylic panels, and straps. The main installation measures 11 x 4.5 meters with a height of 6 meters, accompanied by a satellite object on the west side (3 x 4.5 x 6 meters) and an assemblage (3 x 6 meters).
